ORDINANCE NO. 515 Amended 5/3/2010
AN ORDINANCE of the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Washington, creating a biennial budget for the City.
WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood currently spends a significant amount of staff time developing and implementing an annual budget for the City; and,
WHEREAS, state law allows the City to adopt a biennial budget; and,
WHEREAS, the adoption of a biennial budget would save staff time in the development and implementation of a budget; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN as Follows:
Section 1. That the City of Lakewood hereby adopts a biennial budget cycle to commence January 1, 2011 and to run through December 31, 2012.
Section 2. Severability. If any portion of this Ordinance or its application to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the remainder of the Ordinance or the application of the provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected.
Section 3. Effective Date. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days after publication of the Ordinance Summary.
ADOPTED by the City Council this 3rd day of May, 2010.
