RESOLUTION NO. 2003-28

A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of Lakewood, Washington declaring certain property as surplus and authorizing its disposal to public entities and charitable non-profit organizations or as otherwise available under the law

WHEREAS, the City of Lakewood has a number of items of equipment which have been used by various departments of the City and which are no longer needed for use by the City; and,

WHEREAS, because the property could be used by other public sector entities and charitable non-profit organizations and/or neighborhood associations in the Lakewood area to benefit the citizens of the City, which would promote public and governmental purposes, it would be appropriate to declare this property surplus and authorize its disposal to such entities and organizations as a first priority; and,

WHEREAS, if the surplus property is not reasonably usable or made available to such entities, then it should be disposed of by appropriate means according to legally permissible methods.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, WASHINGTON HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:

Section 1. That the items of property identified and described on the list attached hereto, marked as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference, are declared to be surplus, and the City Manager or designee is authorized to dispose of such property in a manner designed to provide for its use by other public sector entities and charitable non-profit organizations in the Lakewood community, or, alternatively, surplus property should be disposed of in accordance with legally permissible methods.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and signatures hereon.
