CALL TO ORDER

 

Mayor Richardson called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m.

 

ROLL CALL

 

Councilmembers Present: 7 ? Mayor Douglas Richardson; Deputy Mayor Don Anderson; Councilmembers Ron Cronk, Pad Finnigan, Helen McGovern, Walter Neary and Claudia Thomas.

 

R E G U L A R A G E N D A

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS AND APPEALS

 

This is the date set for a public hearing by the City Council on the adoption of a temporary interim development controls for the Tillicum neighborhood and/or a moratorium for the filing of applications for licenses, permits and approvals for new residential and commercial development in various areas in Tillicum.

 

Speaking before the Council were:

 

Dennis Haugen, Lakewood resident, spoke about the City?s building permitting and service.

 

Tom Davisson, Tillicum resident, spoke about widening the roads north of Maple Avenue and the value of land to be taken.

 

There being no further testimony, the hearing was declared closed.

 

ORDINANCES

 

Ordinance No. 465 establishing interim zoning controls for the Tillicum area; initiating the preparation of a sub-plan area; and declaring an emergency making necessary the passage of this ordinance.

 

COUNCILMEMBER THOMAS MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE NO. 465. SECONDED BY COUNCILMEMBER MCGOVERN. VOICE VOTE WAS TAKEN AND CARRIED WITH COUNCILMEMBER NEARY VOTING IN OPPOSITION.

Ordinance No. 466 extending a moratorium on the filing of applications for licenses, permits and approvals for new residential and commercial development in various areas of the Tillicum neighborhood for an additional six months; and declaring an emergency making necessary the passage of this ordinance.

 

Mayor Richardson announced that with the adoption of Ordinance No. 465, Ordinance No. 466 to extend a moratorium was moot.

 

ADJOURNMENT

 

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
